Wood vinegar
Wood vinegar is a valuable liquid mixture also known as pyroligneous acid, mokusaku, liquid smoke, or wood vinegar. It is a holistic growth enhancer, containing an array of compounds that work synergistically to foster thriving plant life.
Wood vinegar not only increases photosynthesis and crop yields but also reduces the need for fertilizers. This reduction is attributed to the microbial activity triggered by wood vinegar, along with the acetic acid’s ability to release minerals from the soil. Other oxygen- and carbon-rich compounds in wood vinegar are delivered to the plant’s roots and leaves.
While wood vinegar is widely embraced in Asia and Australia, it remains in extremely short supply in the US due to limited manufacturing. Its application varies from being added to drip irrigation systems to being used for foliar treatments. Wood vinegar can be combined with biochar to yield exceptional results.
What makes wood vinegar?
Wood vinegar is a holistic growth enhancer, containing a rich array of compounds that work synergistically to foster plant health:
- Acetic Acid: A metabolic booster for plants, acetic acid stimulates the activity of beneficial microbes that deliver essential nutrients to plants.
- Ketones: These compounds provide an energy source for both plants and the beneficial microbes that support them.
- Esters: Offering protection, esters deter insects, safeguarding plants from potential harm.
- Aldehydes: These compounds stimulate plant growth, fostering healthy and vigorous crop development.
- Phenols: Stimulate growthWhen wood vinegar is applied in higher concentrations, phenols can act as herbicides and fungicides.
Enventix carefully extracts wood vinegar in its thermocatalytic conversion process from the dry, woody waste like nutshells and orchard residue. We test and control for consistent quality and safety.
